Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College men's golf team, led by reigning New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Coach of the Year, Matt Greason (7th season), has announced its schedule for the upcoming fall season. In total, the Bantams will take part in six tournaments on the links during the first semester of the academic year.
Trinity had an outstanding 2017-18 season, winning the NESCAC Championship for the second time ever in the spring, and five other tournaments outright, including the NESCAC Fall Qualifier. The team won four tournaments during the fall semester and reached the NCAA Division III Championships in North Carolina during the spring where they finished 34th.
This year, the Bantams will begin competition at the Bill Detrick Invitational at the Indian Hill Country Club in Newington, Conn. on September 8-9. The following weekend, Trinity will travel to the Green Mountain State to compete in the 36-hole Duke Nelson Invitational hosted by Middlebury on September 15-16. Trinity will then travel to Williams College to compete at the Williams Fall Invitational in Mass. on September 22-23. The Bantams will close out the first month of season by traveling to Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Middlefield, Connecticut for the 2018 NESCAC Men's Golf Championship Qualifier. The team will play with a bid to the spring championship on the line, looking to finish among the top four of the 10-team field for the right to compete for a conference title in the spring.
To finish up the fall season, Trinity will play at Skidmore at the Saratoga National Golf Club Invitational from October 6-7 before wrapping up the semester at the Ekwanok Collegiate Match in Manchester, Vt. on October 9.
