Trinity Women's Tennis Loses To Bowdoin In First Match Of The Spring

Claremont, Calif. - The Trinity College Bantams lost their first women's tennis match of the spring, 9-0, against New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) rival Bowdoin College at University of Redlands this morning.  Trinity falls to 1-1, while the No. 5-ranked Polar Bears improve to 3-0.  Trinity will visit Chapman tomorrow at 1 p.m.  Bantam sophomore Jillian Winer (Bolton, Mass.) took Bowdoin's Izzy Essi to three sets in the No. 4 singles match, winning the first, 7-6 (6), before falling in the second, 6-2, and in the clincher by a score of 10-2. Bowdoin swept doubles play and won the other five singles matches in straight sets.
