Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantams won the final six matches of the night to defeat the visiting Cornell University Big Red, 7-2, in men's squash action this evening at Kellner Squash Center.  13-time defending College Squash Association (CSA) Trinity, ranked No. 1 in the nation, improves to 7-0 and extends the longest winning streak in the history of intercollegiate varsity sports to 251 matches in a row.  No. 6-ranked Cornell drops to 5-1.  Trinity had not played a match since December 10 and the Big Red had been off since December 3.

Trinity rookie Miled Ramirez (Mexico City, Mexico) opened the game and his collegiate career with a 3-0 win at the No. 3 position, but Big Red senior Will Hartigan (Concord, N.H.) and sophomore Bryan Keating (Chevy Chase, Md.) won at No. 6 and No. 9, respectively, to give the visitors a 2-1 edge after the first wave.  Trinity junior No 5 player Reinhold Hergeth (Bloemfontein, South Africa) tied the contest at 2-2 with a 3-0 triumph, and rookie Moustafa Hamada (Old Bridge, N.J.) won by the same score in his collegiate debut to give the Bantams a 3-2 lead.  Trinity went on to take the final four points, including the decisive fifth tally on a 3-0 win by sophomore Matthew Mackin (Greenwich, Conn.) at the No. 7 spot.
