Princeton, N.J. – The No. 1 Trinity College men's squash team defeated No. 9 Princeton, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Jadwin Squash Courts. With their sixth straight victory, the Bantams improve to 17-1 on the year, while the Tigers moved to 5-8 overall.

Trinity was dominant at the bottom of the lineup, winning the matches at No. 3-No. 9. First-year Rick Penders (Maastricht, Netherlands) was a force at No. 3, winning his match in three games by a combined score of 33-14 (11-3, 11-2, 11-9). The Bantams won five other matches in three games as junior Juan Vargas (Bogota, Colombia), senior co-captain Karan Malik (Bangalore, India), first-year James Evans (Maidstone, England), sophomore Affeeq Ismail (Kuching, Malaysia) and first-year Omar Allaudin (Lahore, Pakistan) all blanked their opponents.

Senior co-captain Moustafa Hamada (Alexandria, Egypt) earned the other point for the visitors as he erased a two-game deficit to score a 3-2 triumph.  

Trinity returns to action next weekend, Feb. 20-22, as they will host and compete in the College Squash Association (CSA) National Team Championships.
