Trinity Men's Squash Breezes Into Tenth Consecutive NESCAC Finals

Hartford, Conn. -The Trinity College Bantams breezed into their 10th consecutive New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Squash Championship Finals with a 8-1 quarterfinal victory over Amherst College and a 9-0 shutout of the Williams College Ephs in George A. Kellner Squash Center this afternoon.  Trinity, ranked No. 1 in the nation, improves to 17-0 and extends its winning streak to 26 matches.  The Bantams will seek their 10th league crown in a row in the NESCAC Finals tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. against the winner of tonight's semifinal match between Bates and Middlebury at Trinity.

Against Amherst, Trinity won eight times by 3-0 scores and surrendered a point by default at the top spot on the ladder.  First-year Tor Christoffersen (Malmoe, Sweden) yielded just four points in the No. 5 match for the Bantams.  Trinity had little trouble with Williams, posting eight 3-0 triumphs.  Junior William Douglass (Brooklyn, N.Y.) outscored his opponent at the bottom of the lineup by a combined tally of 33-7.
