Trinity Men's Swimming And Diving Suffers Setback At Babson In First Meet

Babson Park, Mass. - First-year Matt Brown (Nahant, Mass.) won two events in his collegiate debut, as the visiting Trinity College Bantams opened theb 2021-22 season with a 132-109 setback against the Babson College Beavers in men's swimming and diving action this afternoon at Morse Pool.  The meet was the season opener for Trinity, which will host Colby and Hamilton in a tri-meet tomorrow at Wesleyan University at 1 p.m.  The Beavers improve to 5-3.

Brown blasted the competition in the 1,000-yard freestyle, finishing over 35 seconds faster than junior teammate Quin Woods (Lincoln, Neb.) in second with a time of 10:17.18.  Brown later won the 500-yard free with a time of 4:53.12.  Bantam junior Karl Wadleigh (Darien, Conn.) added a winning time of 49.37 in the 100-yard freestyle, while classmate Liam Colleran (Norwalk, Conn.) took first in the 100-yard backstroke at 52.51.  Rookie diver Jackson Camporin (New Canaan, Conn.) was first off the one-meter board with a score of 267.65 and the three-meter board with a score of 265.45.
