Weekly Preview: Softball

This Week: After opening its NESCAC season last weekend against Tufts, the Trinity College softball team returns to the diamond for a four-game weekend against Bowdoin. The Bantams will look to pick up its first conference win of the season, playing host to the Polar Bears Saturday before traveling to Maine on Sunday.

Series History: Dating back to 2007, the Bantams are 21-38 overall against Bowdoin. Trinity, however, has taken the last two matchups against the Polar Bears, winning 3-2 and 7-2 at home in 2019.   

Notes and Numbers:
  • The Bantams played its first extra-innings contest of the season last weekend, going nine innings against Tufts before falling 5-4.
  • Junior Jordan Stephan (South Orange, N.J.) pitched the complete game in last Sunday's nightcap, tossing all nine innings and giving up just four earned runs while fanning four.
  • Senior Cassidy Schiff (Darien, Conn.) leads the team offensively with a .455 average; senior Samantha Witmer (Drexel Hill, Pa.) sits behind her, batting .368 and a team-high three RBI.
