Hartford, Conn. – In its first home meet in two years, the Trinity College women's track & field program finished second Saturday afternoon, playing host to Tufts, Wesleyan, and Connecticut College on the track at Jessee/Miller Field. The Bantams finished with 117 points, losing to just Tufts (218) and narrowly edging Wesleyan (110).
Senior
Emma Buckley (Hanover, Mass.) took first in the 200-meter with a time of 26.01 and third in the 100-meter to begin the afternoon. Sophomore
Christina Alcaro (Marshfield, Mass.) took second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:12.36, and senior
Julia Burdulis (Hopkinton, Mass.) crossed the line with a second-place time of 18:49.45 in the 5,000-meter run. The 4x400 relay team of Buckley, sophomore
Julianna Kennedy (Andover, Mass.), and first-years
Cate Kneebone (Winchester, Mass.) and
Kennedy Mullen (Wilder, Vt.) took first, finishing five seconds ahead of Conn. College's A team with a time of 4:03.41.
The Bantams were exceptional in the field, with sophomore
Kamila Zygadlo (Wroclaw, Poland) took first in the discus throw (32.65 meters) and third in the hammer throw (35.85 meters). First-year
Gabby Grattan (Milton, Mass.) took second in the high jump with a height of 1.63 meters, with teammate and senior
Izzy Bruno (Winchester, Mass.) placing behind her in third. First-year
Dahlia Galante (Marblehead, Mass.) took second with a throw of 32.67 meters in the javelin.
The Bantams will head to Tufts to take on the same three programs on Saturday, May 1, with a start time of 2:30 p.m.
