Barney Resigns As Trinity College Head Women's Rowing Coach

Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College Women's Rowing Head Coach Heather Barney announced her resignation today to pursue other professional opportunities.  Barney coached the Bantams for five seasons, helping the Bantams finish among the top ten schools in the New England Rowing Championships in 2018 and among the nation's top 20 Division III teams each season.  Trinity will launch a search for an interim coach immediately.

"We thank Heather for her devotion to the program and her commitment to the growth and development of every woman associated with Trinity Women's Rowing," said Trinity Director of Athletics Drew Galbraith. "We wish her all the best in her future endeavors."

Trinity women's rowing has been one the best NCAA Division III women's rowing programs over the last 20 years, winning over 70 percent of its dual races since 2004, three Varsity Eight National titles since 2008, the 2014 NCAA Division III National Championship crown, and the Jeffries Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta in 2008.
