NEW YORK, N.Y. - Senior Sarahi Lopez (Zappopan, Mexico) and juniors Habiba Dawood (Cairo, Egypt) and Lily Taylor-French (Fano, Italy) posted 3-0 wins to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 6-3 victory over the Columbia University Lions in women's squash action this afternoon at SL Green StreetSquash Center.  Trinity, ranked No. 2 in the nation, improves to 4-0 and the No. 6-ranked Lions are 4-2 with their first loss in five matches.  Trinity visits No. 8-ranked Cornell tomorrow at noon.

Trinity earned its first point with a three-game win by Dawood at the seventh spot and took the lead in the match when sophomore Madeleine Hylland (Baerum, Norway) got by Sarah Cao in five games at the fourth position. Hylland won the fifth set, 11-8, ito put the Bantams ahead 2-1 in the match after wave one.  Sophomore Farida Mohamed won Columbia's first point with a comeback victory over Trinity's Malak Moustafa (Alexandria, Egypt) at the top of the ladder, winning, 11-9, in the fifth set.

Trinity won three individual matches in a row to get to five points and clinch the team victory. Lopez and Taylor-French and  won easily at the fifth and ninth spots, respectively, while Bantam junior Nanna Carleke (Karlskrona, Sweden) won, 3-1, at the eighth position.  Columbia had victors at the second and third places to finish the match with win the entire top third of the ladder, but Trinity swept the next six thanks to a 3-1 triumph by first-year Lujan Palacios (Asuncion, Paraguay) in the sixth spot.
