NORTON, Mass. – Senior Lydia DaCorte won three events to lead the Wheaton College Lyons to a 189-110 win over the visiting Trinity College Bantams in women's swimming and diving action this afternoon at Balfour Natatorium. Trinity falls to 2-3 and No. 17-ranked Wheaton improves to 11-1. First year Madeline Wambach (Boston, Mass.) led Trinity with a pair of wins in the meet. The Bantams close the dual-meet season at home against Springfield on Saturday, January 29 at 1 p.m.
Wambach touched the wall first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:11.48 to go with a victory in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:23.17. Bantam senior captain Zoryanna Matlashewski (Anoka, Minn.) won the other distance event for the Bantams, posting a time of 18:42.65 over 1,650 yards. Senior Olivia Ramos (Weston, Mass.) led the Trinity diving team with a second-place finish on the one-meter board with a score of 175.65 and was the runner-up on the three-meter board as well with a mark of 159.75.
