Trinity Men's Squash Hosts NESCAC Championships This Weekend

HARTFORD, Conn - With 17 College Squash Association (CSA) National Championship titles and 14 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships since 1999, the Trinity College men's squash team is looking to add a 32nd crown when the Bantams host the 2022 NESCAC Championship Tournament this weekend as the top seed. The No. 1 seed is not an unfamiliar place for the Bantams who have won every NESCAC title since the first championship tournament in 2007. Trinity will host the event at the George A. Kellner Squash Center with first round matches taking place at both Trinity and Wesleyan on Friday, February 4, play continuing on Saturday, February 5, and championship and place matches scheduled for Sunday, February 6 at 1 p.m.

Coached by Paul Assaiante (28th Season), and the Bantams enter the NESCAC Championships with an 11-2 overall record following an 8-1 win over conference rival Tufts Wednesday. After its Friday bye, Trinity's quarterfinal opponent will be the winner of the 8/9 match between Wesleyan University and Hamilton College. While they did not face either team in the regular season, Trinity defeated both Wesleyan and Hamilton, 9-0, in their last meetings in the 2013 and 2017 NESCAC Quarterfinals, respectively.

Results for the NESCAC Men's Squash Championship will be available at the end of each day at NESCAC.com. For up-to-date scores and results throughout the tournament follow NESCAC on Twitter (@NESCAC) and Instagram (@nescacathletics).
