HARTFORD, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantams handled the visiting Springfield College Pride, 7-2, in women's tennis action this afternoon played indoors at Trinity Field House. Trinity improved to 5-2 with its fourth win in five matches heading into a Saturday home match against New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) rival Tufts, ranked No. 10 in the nation, on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Trinity won both doubles matches and all five singles matches that were played. Springfield earned both its points on defaults. Bantam senior co-captain
Ashley Walker (New Canaan, Conn.) was dominant in the No. 4 singles match, winning, 6-0, 6-1, while sophomore
Josephine Kimball (New York, N.Y.) and rookie
Ella Baker (Gladstone, N.J.) also won singles matches in straight sets.
