Men's Track and Field Performs Well at Silfen Invitational

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Junior Travis Martin (New Haven, Conn.) clocked a 3:47.37 personal record in the 1500 Meter run at Princeton on Friday night while the rest of the Trinity College men's track and field team competed at Connecticut College in the Silfen Invitational on Saturday. The Bantams next compete at home, hosting the Trinity Invitational Saturday, April 23 at 10:30 p.m.

Martin's PR in a competitive 1500 Meter field at Princeton on Friday night unofficially ranks him as a top-3 runner in Division III throughout the country. Aside from Martin's stellar performance last night, first-year Ethan Wilkie (Ellington, Conn.) placed second on Saturday in the shot put with a mark of 14.54 meters and Kai Bailin finished third in the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 56.56 seconds. Additionally, senior Robert Allen (Bloomfield, Conn.) placed sixth in the 100 Meter Dash while first-year Nolan McKenna (Boston, Mass.) clocked a 50.35 second 400 Meter Dash which was good for a seventh place spot and sophomore Toby L'Esperance (Florence, Mass.) crossed the line ninth in the 1500 Meter at Connecticut College with a 4:03.58 performance.
