HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College men's tennis team was defeated by Tufts University, 8-1 on Saturday in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) play at the Assaiante Tennis Center. The Bantams drop to 3-4 and 0-2 in the conference while Tufts improves to 7-1 and picks up its second NESCAC victory (2-1) on the year. Trinity resumes conference action at home tomorrow with a 10 a.m. match against Bates College.
The Jumbos swept Trinity in singles competition as senior captain
Ross DeRose (Buffalo, N.Y.) was the only Bantams to make it past two sets, falling in four to Vulesanovic. In doubles play, DeRose and classmate/fellow captain
Dylan Powell (Warwick, Bermuda) took down the Jumbos No. 1 duo in an 8-6 triumph but Tufts won both of the remaining matches 8-3.
