HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College men's tennis team took down Bates College, 5-3 on Sunday in New England Small College Atheltic Conference (NESCAC) play at the Assaiante Tennis Center. Competition was eventually moved inside to the Trinity Field House as rain approached Hartford. The Bantams improve to 4-4 and 1-2 in the conference while Bates slides to 3-6 (1-3 NESCAC). Trinity hosts Endicott College Thursday at 3 p.m. before taking the road for four-straight road matches beginning next Saturday.
The Bantams took three out of four doubles matches on the day, as Trinity's first three duos earned 8-6, 8-2 and 8-4 victories respectively. In singles competion, senior captain
Ross DeRose (Bronx, N.Y.) took down Forester in the No. 1 spot in three sets. Meanwhile first-year
Jack Ginter (Pheonixville, Pa.) won in the No. 4 slot for the Bantams also going three sets with Bates' Danielson.
