Men's Track & Field Finishes Strong at Springfield Massasoit Invite

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — To open the new year, Kai Bailin (Shutesbury, Mass.) and Ethan Wilkie (Ellington, Conn.) inked their names in the top five in both their events for the Trinity College men's track & field team at the Springfield College Massasoit Invite on Saturday. Trinity returns to action on January 29 at a Middlebury College meet at The Track at New Balance.

Bailin clocked in at 7.03 in the 60 meter dash for fourth place after improving his prelim time and was .001 behind third-place finisher from Springfield Evan Weber. The senior runner finished second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.74. In the shot put, Wilkie throws for 15.34 meters and was .20 further than second-place and placed thirf in the weight throw was a 15.45 meter heave. Also in the shot put, Andrew Moran (Mendham, N.J.) threw for 11.42 meters and earned the seventh spot.

Nolan McKenna (Boston, Mass.) clocked in for first with a time of 1:25.41 in the 600 meter run, while Travis Martin (New Haven, Conn.) came out on top in the 1000 meter run with a time of 2:30.27 and was 07.39 seconds faster than second-place finisher Gordon Johnson from Westfield State. Both for the three spot, Zuri Johnson (Powder Springs, Ga.) and Darren Warren (West Haven, Conn.) clocked in at 52.83 and 23.40 in the 400 and 200 meter dash, respectively.

The Navy & Gold had a trio of top-ten finishers in the one mile as Toby L'Esperance (Florence, Mass.) clocked in at 4:31.33 for sixth, only 0.32 behind fifth-place finisher Sadadine Adam from American International, Kevin Rogers (Danvers, Mass.) earned eight with a time of 4:33.53 and Sam Strymish (Newton, Mass.) secured 10th with a time of 4:35.72. In the 200 meter dash, Charlie Ducret (Ole Greenwich, Conn.) garnered night with a time of 24.21, followed by Connor Quiet (Falmouth, Maine) in 10th who crossed the line at 24.48. First-year William Addison (Falmouth, Maine) placed fifth in the 400 meter dash at 54.69, while classmate Evan Farnan (East Greenbush, N.Y.) finished fourth in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:29.21.
