HARTFORD, Conn. — In the second home meet for the Trinity College wrestling team, Anders Klass (Braintree, Mass.) went undefeated with a 2-0 record against Alvernia University and Castleton University on Saturday, while the Bantams fell to the No. 23-ranked Golden Wolves 37-6 and dropped a 42-9 match with the No. 13-ranked Spartans. Trinity heads to the University of Southern Maine for a noon quad match on February 4. Castleton opened the day with a 24-9 win over Alvernia.

At 133, Matthew Carrozza (Brookfield, Conn.) took down Alvernia's Anthony Portilla but Portilla escaped to take down the first-year in the first period for a 3-2 lead. In the second period, Carrozza escaped his opponents takedown to bring the score within one at 5-4, before a pair of takedowns by the Golden Wolves and an escape by Carrozza sealed the 9-5 loss for Trinity. Klass notched his first win at 197 over the visiting Zachary Scheffler with a pin at 4:42 to give the Bantams six points.

Kevin Lyskawa (Londonderry, N.H.) defeated Darius Mangiafico from Castleton at 165 with a technical fall at 7:00 with a score of 16-1 and tallied five points for the Navy & Gold. Klass secured his second win with a 9-1 major decision victory over Haven Tatarek at 197. Despite a trio of escapes and a takedown by Adam Frost (Bennington, Vt.), the junior was bested by Desmond McLaughlin in a 9-5 decision at 174.
