HARTFORD, Conn. - Bill Kelleher, who served as an assistant men's and women's track and field coach at Trinity for over two decades, passed away on January 2 at the age of 91. Kelleher came to Trinity in the 1990s as an assistant to former head coach George Suitor after a long run as an assistant and head track and field coach at the University of Connecticut. The 1981 New England coach of the year and a member of the 1982 Big East Conference coaching staff of the year, Kelleher coached some of Trinity's top student-athletes in the hurdling, jumping and multi-events including NCAA Heptathlon Champion Mandy Rival.
Kelleher was married to Joy (Wilde) Kelleher in 1950 and they had two sons, Bruce and Brian along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In lieu of a memorial service, Kelleher's family will remember and celebrate his life privately at his favorite places.
