NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Trinity College Men's Swimming & Diving team battled Roger Williams and host Connecticut College in a dual meet at the Conn College Natatorium Saturday afternoon. The Bantams fell to the Hawks, 148-138, and then lost to the host Camels, 209-88.
Highlights:
· The 200 medley relay team of junior Matthew Brown, graduate Quin Woods, senior Dillion McDermott, and senior Colin Leonard placed first overall with their fastest time this season at 1:35.65.
· First year Matt Semelsberger won the 1000 against the Hawks, recording a season best time of 10:27.88.
· Matthew Brown came in third in the 100 back overall, going a season best time of 53.94, won the 500 free against RWU and fourth overall going a season best at 4:53.05. He was also second overall in the 200 IM and first against RWU with a time of 1:57.42.
· Woods got second overall in the 100 breast and first against Conn going a season best time of 1:00.16, while placing third overall and second to both teams in the 200 breast going a season best time of 2:15.30.
· Tadija Ciric got third overall in the 200 fly and won against RWU with a time of 1:54.77, and took sixth overall in the 100 fly going a season best time of 52.64.
· First year Ben Lynch took third in the 200 fly going a season best with a time of 2:06.85.
· Junior Topher Fitzpatrick placed second on both the 1M dive and 3M dive, achieving a lifetime personal record on 3M, with scores of 184.65 and 190.80, respectively.
· Sophomore Owen Schmidt finished third on both 1M dive (166.20) and 3M (170.17), achieving lifetime personal records on both boards.
· First year Ernesto Solana got second to RWU in the 200 back going a season best time of 2:05.05
· McDermott was third overall in the 100 fly with a season best time of 52.34.
· Sophomore Patrick Cadogan finished third against RWU in the 200 IM with a lifetime best time of 2:05.43.
· The 400 free relay team of Ciric, first year Benjamin Broxson, Leonard and McDermott took third overall with a time of 3:14.13.
The Bantams will return to the pool following the holiday break when they take on Vassar College on January 11th at Mount Holyoke College.
