HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Wrestling squad opened their home schedule with a 25-23 victory over visiting Williams College in Oosting Gymnasium Friday night. This is the Bantams first victory over the Ephs in 20 seasons. Prior to the match, the Bantams honored first captain Mike O'Hare and first All-American Joe Adam.
The Bantams collected forfeit victories of first year Alexander Schaeublin and sophomore Matthew Carrozza. At 141 pounds, sophomore Adam Schaeublin rolled to a major decision, 17-8, and then junior Chris Perry registered a 10-0 major decision in the 149-pound match.
At 157-pounds, sophomore Chase Ledbury lost by fall, while first year Tucker Vician fell by technical fall, 16-0, in the 165-pound bout. Senior Adam Frost returned the Bantams to win column with a 15-0 technical fall victory at 174-pounds, and then junior Marco Bragado lost by decision, 9-4, in the 184-pound match. At 197-pound, sophomore John Fiore III was edged by decision, 4-2, while senior Tim Glynn lost by fall in the heavyweight bout.
The Bantams will be back in action when they travel to the Manganaro North/South Duals, hosted at Ursinus College, on January 6th at 10:00 a.m.
