CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — At the Gordon Kelly Invitational hosted by MIT, Evan Farnan (East Greenbush, N.Y.) clocked in first for the Trinity College men's track & field team in the 600m, while first-years William Addison (Falmouth, Maine) and Kevin Rogers (Danvers, Mass.) both came in second in the 200m and 3000m, respectively, on Saturday. The Bantams run again on February 18 at the Springfield College Triangle Classic.
Farnan took the crown in the 600m with a time of 1:29.24 and was 00:.65 seconds faster than second-place finisher Young Wang from Brandeis. In the 200m Addison snatched second with a time of 23.86 in the third heat, while Rogers placed second in the 3000m with a time of 9:02.00 for a personal record and was 00:93 seconds ahead of Oneota's John Balk Jr. Ethan Wilkie (Ellington, Conn.) placed third in the weight throw with a personal best and a new school record with a 16.72m throw, followed by a fourth-place finish in the shot put with a 14.80m heave.
In the 800m, James Maciel Andrews (New Haven, Conn.) and Quinlan McGlame (Marshfield, Mass.) clocked in at sixth and eighth with times of 2:10.25 and 2:10.86, respectively. Maciel Andrews ran for a personal best with the Navy & Gold. Jack Darling (Milton, Mass.) crossed the finish line for fifth place in the 400m with a time of 5.55m. In the 60m, Connor Quiet placed 8th with a time of o 7.23. Not far behind Rogers, was James Carroll (Southborough, Mass.) and Dylan Idleman (Rancho Mission Viejo, Calif.) in the 3000m as they Bantams clocked in at seventh and ninth with times of 9:17.56 and 9:26.72, respectively.
Travis Martin (New Haven, Conn.) fights through a congested field at Boston University with the 10th fastest time in Division III history in the indoor mile, and 2nd fastest time in Trinity school history. Bantam foursome Darren Warren (West Haven, Conn.), Kai Bailin (Shutesbury, Mass.), Zuri Johnson (Powder Springs, Ga.) and Nolan McKenna (Boston, Mass.) placed 31st in the 4x400 relay, for the second fastest time in Trinity history with a time of 3:23.66.
Toby L'Esperance (Florence, Mass.) placed 30th in the 1000m as the junior crossed the line with a time of 2:29.87, while in the 200m Bailin clocked in at 38th with a time of 22.02. Not far behind L'Esperance in the 1000m run, Sam Strymish (Newton, Mass.), Nicholas Dall (Waterville, Maine) and Jonathan Lischetti (Florence, Mass.) placed 49th, 53rd and 60th, with times of 2:32.71, 2:32.98 and 2:36.63, respectively.
