NEW YORK, N.Y. — For its first consecutive winning season since 2002-03 and 2003-04, the Trinity College wrestling team finished the regular season with a 13-9 record after splitting the New York University Tri-Match on Saturday as the Bantams outlasted Hunter 39-17 and lost to the host school 47-4. On Sunday, Trinity heads to Western New England University for the New England Wrestling Association Futures Tournament with the first match at 11 a.m.

At 139, Alex Paxhia  (Milton, Mass.) recorded the first points for Trinity with a pin against Hunter College's Naman Basin and Chris Perry (Mohegan Lake, N.Y.) defeated Jahongir Davronov in the 149 bout with a 7-0 decision. Nico Patch (Oswego, Ill.) notched the only points for the Navy & Gold as the senior defeated the host school's Thomas Lapinski with 10-0 decision in the 157 match.
