HARTFORD, Conn. — After the Trinity College women's tennis team lead 4-2, but Hamilton College won two-straight to tie it at four apiece before a close three set match sealed the 5-4 loss for the Bantams on Sunday. Trinity dropped to 1-3 on the season and 0-3 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference, while the Continentals moved to 4-2 and 3-2. The Bantams head to Florida to face the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on March 20 at 2:30 p.m.

At No. 1 doubles, partners Isabella Hartman (New York, N.Y.) and Josephine Kimball (New York, N.Y.) outlasted Lauren Holtzman and Hannah Apsey for the first match point, 8-6. Hamilton No. 2 duo Shannon Cicero and Hannah Walpole knotted it at one a piece before Ella Baker (Gladstone, N.J.) and Kennedy White (Golden, Colo.) secured final doubles match point.

Hartman dominated with a 6-2 and 6-4 match win at No. 1 singles before Cicero's win at No. 4 narrowed the Continentals deficit, 3-2. Kimball padded the Trinity lead by one in a close 7-5 and 6-4 win at No. 2 against Holtzman, but a pair of Hamilton wins knotted it at four apiece. At No. 6 singles Madison Bolig (Charleston, S.C.) took the first set 4-6 before dropping the second 6-3. Samantha Rainero rallied back to take the final set from Bolig for Hamilton's winning match point.
