ORLANDO, Fla. — At the No. 6 spot, first-year Elise Brennan (Valatie, N.Y.) secured the match point in a thrilling fashion for the Trinity College women's tennis team as the Bantams swept the George Fox University at USTA National Campus on Thursday. Trinity returns to the Northeast with a 3 p.m. match at Springfield College on March 30. The Bantams improved to 5-3 on the season, while the Bruins dropped to 5-5.

Brennan dominated in the first set with a 6-1 win but fell in a tight second set 7-6 (7-5) to Abigail Bond. The rookie rallied back after the narrow defeat to take the third set 10-point match tiebreaker. Brennan was down 2-9 but fought for seven-straight points to knot it at nine apiece before taking the singles match point, 11-9. Isabella Hartman (New York, N.Y.), Josephine Kimball (New York, N.Y.) and Ella Baker (Gladstone, N.J.) won in straight sets and didn't allow more than three points in their matches at No. 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Angelina Shyltsyna (Odessa, Ukraine) and Allie Francis (Westport, Conn.) also dominated in two sets at No. 3 and No. 5 spots.

Number 1 partners Hartman and Kimball took the doubles match point in an 8-2 victory over Bruins' Cassey Hitch and Kalli Wiker, while Francis and Shyltyna defeated Ellie Mangan and Olivia Morris at the No. spot, 8-3. The sophomore duo Kennedy White (Golden, Colo.)and Baker dominated with an 8-3 triumph over George Fox's Arianna Rader and Brenna VanderYacht to complete the doubles sweep.
