MEDFORD, Mass. — A pair of first-places by
Ethan Wilkie (Ellington, Conn.), along with one by Zuri Johnson (Powder Springs, Ga.) and
Nolan McKenna (Boston, Mass.) highlights the Trinity College men's track & field team's 13 top-eight finishes at Tufts University's Snowflake Classic on Saturday. The Bantams rounded out the top-three with 84 total points, while the home team secured the top-spot with 118 points and Babson earned second with 91. Trinity has a week of rest before heading to nearby Coast Guard Academy for it Invitational at 10 a.m. on April 8.
Wilkie threw a trio of personal records in all of the juniors events — shot put, hammer throw amd the discus — with top-marks in the hammer (50.20m) and shot put (16.54m), along with a second-place finish in the discus (46.28m). Johnson and McKenna secured the top-two spots in the 200m with a personal-best time of 23.21 and 23.22, respectively. The duo also placed in the top-three in the 400m as McKenna came out on top with a time of 50.66 and Johnson finished third with a time of 51.23 for a personal record.
Enzi Dabner-Teacher (Tarrytown, N.Y.) finished second in the 100m with a time of 11.926 and edged third-place Hezekiah Brown from Lesley by 0.003, while
Jack Darling (Milton, Mass.) crossed the line third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:00.59. For a personal best in the javelin,
Andrew Moran (Mendham, N.J.) finished third with a 49.62m heave, while first-year
Kevin Rogers (Danvers, Mass.) earned fifth in the 1500m with a time of 4:11:44. Rookie
Emmanuele Chiappinelli III (Milton, Vt.) placed seventh in the javelin with a 44.39m throw. After qualifying in the prelims at eighth with a time of 11.90,
Terrence Bogan (Wallingford, Conn.) moved up two paces in the finals with a time of 11.64 for sixth place.
