Men's Tennis Downed by Tufts, 9-0

MEDFORD, Mass. — On the road, the Trinity College men's tennis team fell, 9-0, at Tufts University on Saturday despite two close tiebreaker matches at No. 1 doubles and solo matches. The Bantams moved to 5-9 overall and 1-6 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference, while the Jumbos improved to 14-0 and 8-0. Trinity remains on the road at Bates College for a 10 a.m. match on Sunday.

At No. 1 doubles, Henry Bilicic (Del Mar, Calif.) and Rico Buoro (San Paulo, Brazil) had the potential for the match point in the 8-7 (4) loss against Rishabh Sharda and Josh Belandres. Bilicic had a close three-set match at No. 1 singles with Sharda to even the match 1-1 with a 7-6 (5) win despite dropping the opening set 6-2. The Jumbo remained solid in the No. 1 solo match with a close 10-7 victory over the junior.
