Women's Tennis Led in Doubles Over #27 Brandeis in 6-3 Loss

HARTFORD, Conn. — The Trinity College women's tennis tennis took an early 2-1 lead after doubles wins at No. 2 and No. 3 but Brandeis University rallied back for the 6-3 victory on Friday. The Bantams fell to 5-5 on the season, while the Judges moved to 7-7. Trinity hosts Connecticut College on Saturday for a 11 a.m. match.

At no. 3 partners, Ella Baker (Gladstone, N.J.) and Elise Brennan (Valatie, N.Y.) defeated Anastasia Sia and Cecilia Denis to even the score at 1-1 before Allie Francis (Westport, Conn.) and Angelina Shyltsyna (Odessa, Ukraine) bested Jiayi Zhang and Ella Chase at No. 2 doubles for an early 2-1 lead. The Judges went on to record five more singles wins, while Shyltsyna notched the third point for the Navy & Gold at No. 3 singles.
