NEW LONDON, Conn. — The Trinity College men's track & field placed in the top three across three events at the United States Coast Guard Academy Invitational on Saturday, including the top-spot in the 4x400 meter relay led by
Darren Warren (West Haven, Conn.),
Zuri Johnson (Powder Springs, Ga.),
Kai Bailin (Shutesbury, Mass.) and
Nolan McKenna (Boston, Mass.). Trinity finished second overall with 81 points, while UMass Dartmouth placed first with 120 points and the host school nabbed third with 77.5 points. The Bantams compete next at Connecticut College's Silfen Invitational at 2 p.m. on April 14.
In the 4x400 meter relay, the foursome earned the top spot with a time of 3:22.18, while
William Addison (Falmouth, Maine),
Lucien Ducret (Old Greenwich, Conn.),
Pedro Mateo (Immokalee, Fla.) and
James Maciel Andrews (New Haven, Conn.) nabbed third place with a time of 3:31.67. To round out the Trinity relay events, Addison,
Terrence Bogan (Wallingford, Conn.),
Enzi Dabner-Teacher (Tarrytown, N.Y.) and Warren secured second in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 43.99.
Ethan Wilkie (Ellington, Conn.) snatched third place in the hammer throw with a 48.99m heave, placed third in the discus with a throw of 44.59m and took fourth in the shot put with a 15.22m toss. In the 400m hurdles, Bailin crossed the finish line second with
Jack Darling two paces behind with times of 56.45 and 59.71, respectively. McKenna earned second-place in the 400m with a time of 50.75 followed closely by Johnson with a time of 51.99 for the sixth spot.
Larson Sippel (Northhampton, Mass.) clocked in at 1:57.54 in the 800m for second place, while
James Carroll (Southborough, Mass.) finished fourth in the 3000m steeple chase. In the 1500m,
Kevin Rogers placed fifth with a time of 4:04.51, while Warren crossed the line sixth for a time of 22.66. For eighth place,
Andrew Moran (Mendham, N.J.) threw for 43.80m in the javelin.
