HARTFORD, Conn – The 35th Bantams of the Week of 2022-23 have been selected thanks to each of their impressive performances on the turf and the track. The Trinity College women's lacrosse junior Quincy Connell (New Canaan, Conn.) and men's track and field sophomore Nolan McKenna (Boston, Mass.) have each been named as Bantams of the Week.
Each week, the Trinity athletics website will spotlight two exceptional student-athletes – one male, one female – as the Bantams of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition from the previous week.
Connell collected three caused turnovers and three ground balls in Trinity's NCAA Division III Championship Third Round setback (22-9) at Middlebury on May 20. Connell led the Bantams this spring with 30 ground balls and 28 caused turnovers while earning IWLCA All-Region honors anchoring Trinity's defense. She started all 19 Trinity games and added 12 draw controls in 2023.
McKenna finished second in the 400-meter dash in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Last Chance Qualifier on May 18. McKenna also teamed with Bantam senior Kai Bailin (Shutesbury, Mass.), sophomore Larson Sippel (Northampton, Mass.), and first-year Zuri Johnson (Powder Springs, Ga.) for a third-place time of 3:21.03 in the 4x400-meter relay at MIT. He finished among the top three in the 400 meters in every invitational, scored at the NESCAC Championship Meet in the event, and earned All-New England Division III honors in the event this spring.
