PROVIDENCE, RI. – The Trinity College Wrestling squad battled in the JWU Quad on Saturday hosted by Johnson and Wales, joined by Roger Williams and Worcester Polytech Institute. This was the Bantams first hardship of the season falling to the Wildcats 55-0, Hawks 30-24, and the Goats 25-22 going 0-3 on the day.
The Bantams collected 5 match victories against Roger Williams with wins from first year Alexander Schaeublin and sophomore Matthew Carrozza both going 3-0 in their individuals. At 141 pounds, sophomore Adam Schaeublin collected a takedown along with Chris Perry both recording a 6-0 win. In our heavyweight class at 285 Chase Glynn was victorious with a 6-0 score to finish off the dual for the Bantams.
In the dual against WPI the Bantams recorded four individual wins across the weight classes with another 6-0 victory from Glynn and Matthew Carozza. At 141-pounds, first year Daniel Echeverria rolled to a 5-0 win, along with Adam Schaeublin in the 149 weight class.
Against Johnson and Wales the Bantams were unable to muscle their way to a point as the Wildcats controlled the mats.
The Bantams will be back in action when they travel to the Manganaro North/South Duals, hosted at Ursinus College, on January 6th at 10:00 a.m.
