#4 Trinity Men's Squash Thump Dartmouth, 9-0

HARTFORD, Conn. – #4 Trinity College Men's Squash collected a 9-0 victory over Dartmouth on Friday afternoon at the Berry Squash Courts. Bantams rise to a 8-0 record overall, while Dartmouth fall to a 4-3 overall season record.

The Bantams first three athletes collected three straight wins to open up the Friday afternoon match. Junior Danial Izham took down Rana Thakkar in three, denying the Dartmouth athlete less than 4 points in each set (11-2, 11-3, 11-4). Senior Khamal Cumberbatch followed Izham's lead collecting the team their second win of 3-0 with set scores of 11-6, 11-4, and 11-8. Senior Ali El Toukhy fell short 11-9 in the first set, but answered back with three straight set wins going 3-1 (9-11, 11-5, 11-3, 11-9) in the third set for Trinity.

Junior Mateo Restrepo registered a 3-0 victory over Dartmouth's Net Gildea with sets of 11-5, 11-1 and closed out with an 11-0 score. Bantams Ahmed Ismail went back to back 11-9 sets starting off the match with a 2-0 lead over Callan Venkatesan. Dartmouth got the upper hand in the third set with a score of 11-7, Ismail answered in 11-5 in the fourth set to secure the 3-1 win for Trinity. Sophomore Joachim Chuah Han Wen wins in straight sets, Bantams lead 6-0 over Dartmouth.

In the final matches senior Abdelrahman Nassar fell 8-11 in his first set but rallied to close out his individual match in three straight sets with a final score of 3-1 (8-11, 11-6, 11-5, 11-6). Senior Mohamed Sharaf finished strong with a 3-0 victory over William Aube (11-5, 14-12, 11-1). And to secure the Bantams victory over Dartmouth sophomore Daniel Simon finished out 3-1 with set scores of 6-11, 11-2, 9-11, 4-11.

The Bantams will be back in action on January 21st as they host Harvard in the George A. Kellner Squash Courts at 1PM.
