Bantams Women's Swimming Surpassed by Lyons, 194-105

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Women's Swimming and Diving team were caught in the Wheaton College ripples as they fell to a final score of 194-105. The Bantams drop their record 6-3 on the season, while the Lyons rise to a 9-2 record 

Trinity's Emma Conard took second in the 1M dive tallying a score of 176.47 followed in third by teammate Cass Cronin with a total score of 169.05. Cronin would place second in the 3M dive overall with a score of 186.45 for the Bantams.

The Bantams grabbed gold in five events against the Lyons, including first place finishes from Morgan Lenoce (200-yard backstroke, 2:14.47), Marissa Lopez-Ona (200-yard breaststroke, 2:29.42), Lauren Basette (100-yard Butterfly, 1:07.36), Charlotte Murphree (200-yard IM, 2:16.19), Niamh Kastner (200-yard butterfly 2:10.59). 

Within the lanes Maria Figueroa made a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:04.75, along with a 100-yard butterfly second place finish from Naimh Kastner (59.65). Isabella Tagliaferro (50-yard free, 25.24) and Kate Dustin (100-yard free, 56.70) both collected second place finishes in their events for the Bantams.

In the 400 yard medley relay the trinity squad of Lenoce, Murphree, Kastner and Tagliaferro placed third with a time of 4:07.65.

The Bantams head back in Trinity Natatorium Saturday, Feb 3rd as they host Springfield College at 1PM.
