WATERFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Men's Cross Country team finished 14th in the 8K race at the NCAA Mideast Region Championship on Saturday morning. The event was held at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Conn.
NOTE: 33 men's teams in the Mideast Region. Some teams didn't field enough athletes to have a team score at the regional meet, but there were still athletes from those teams competing. Only 24 teams ended up with team scores (at least 5 finishers). 172 men ran over the weekend.
First-year Tyler Johnson led the Bantams with a time of 26:32.4, finishing 59th overall. Senior Larson Sippel followed closely with a time of 26:47.9, placing 67th.
Additional strong finishes came from first-year Calix McCormick (27:28.0), sophomore Dolan Pols (27:48.4), sophomore Alex Willard (27:55.0), and junior Saglain Anjum (28:21.9).
"Our men's team really stepped up today, embracing the challenge and taking smart risks," said Head Coach John Michael Mason. "While this may not be our strongest finish, I'm excited about the future and what we've seen this season, especially from such a young roster."
