BOSTON, Mass. - Men's and Women's Track and Field competed at the New England Division III Championships last Saturday, where multiple Bantams set new school records and finished top-5 in many events.
On the women's side we saw amazing performances from senior Kennedy Mullen who finished third overall in the 400m setting a new personal record and indoor school record of 56.97. Senior Gabby Grattan collected runner-up in the high jump, narrowly missing a personal record.Â
Bantams 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams' set new school records at the NEDIII Championship. The team of Shea O'Neill, Cate Kneebone, Emma Almoney, and Sophia Jones crossed the finish line fifth marking Trinity's second fastest time in school history for indoor 4x200 at 1:45.40. Followed by the relay squad of Cate Kneebone, Emma Almoney, Sophia Jones, and Kennedy Mullen collecting 4th at 3:53.99 setting a new indoor school record in the 4x400. In the distance medley relay the Bantams had a team composed of sophomores and first years who finished 12th overall.
On the men's side of the lanes and field junior Lars Sippel was the 600m champion finishing with the second fastest time in school history at 1:21:44. Junior Tobias L'Esperance ran the mile in 4:14:82, collecting a fourth place finish for the Bantams. The 4x400 relay team of Nolan McKenna, Zuri Johnson, Tobias L'Esperance and Larson Sipple finished top-6 setting the second fastest time in school history at 3:22.22.
In the field for the men, first year Donovan Koukal-Kollie recorded a personal record with a distance of 13.18m in the triple jump placing 12th overall. And to finish the day off strong junior Ethan Wilkie placed top-5 in the weight throw and was the shot put champion at the NEDIII Championship tossing for a distance of 16.39m.
The Bantams next step is to compete at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships this weekend beginning on Friday, March 1st at 2pm into Saturday, March 2nd.
