Softball Finishes 1-1 on Final Day of Their Spring Games

CLERMONT, Fla. - Trinity Softball went 1-1 on their final day of their spring games clinching a 9-8 win over Susquehanna University, falling in the following game to Lakeland University, 1-0 for the final. Bantams now hold a record of 7-5 in the season. 

Trinity def. Susquehanna

Taylor Mikolajczak hit a grandslam to boost the bantams to a 4-1 lead in the second inning to get a jump on a lead early in the meeting with the Hawks. Susquehanna added two runs in the second to close the gap making it a one run game entering the third, 4-3.

The Bantams would add runs in the next three innings with a sacrifice fly RBI in the third from Abigail Alper and from Kennedy Rogers in the fourth making it a 6-4 game after the fourth inning. Mikolajczak kept finding success at the plate as she doubled for a three RBI knock, to grow a comfortable lead of 9-4 in the fifth.

The Hawks managed to add four runs over the course of four hits in the sixth inning, Alper was able to close the inning as she collected the final out in center field for the Bantams.

Heather Roth recorded the save for Trinity as she took over in the circle for Tiffany Stowers at the bottom of the 7th.

Lakeland def. Bantams

The Muskies bested the Bantams Saturday afternoon 1-0. Trinity managed to knock three hits in the game against Lakeland but was unable to find success within the bases. Erin Girard began within the lanes for Trinity where she was relieved by Heather Roth to close out the game in the 7th inning.

The Bantams will be back home where they will host Hamilton College for a double header on Saturday, March 23rd for a 12PM/2PM game.
