MEDFORD, Mass. - Men's and Women's Track and Field competed at the Tufts Snowflake Classic this past Saturday, the men finished fourth overall and multiple Bantams set personal records and finished top-5 in many events combined across the Men's and Women's teams.
On the men's side of the field senior Ethan Wilkie took gold in discus (44.05m) and hammer throw (50.16m) while finishing second in shot put (15.45m). Donovan Koakal-Kollie took silver in the triple jump with a distance of 13.32m, just .26 behind Wentworths' Fabrice Fouron (13.48m).Â
Within the lanes on the track Bantams sophomore Zuri Johnson finished 2nd overall with a time of 21.48 setting a personal record in the 200m, with a fifth place finish from Noah McKenna at 22.43. Jack Darling finished top-10 with a time of 59.14 in the 400m Hurdles adding two points for the men.
On the women's side we saw amazing performances from senior Gabby Grattan who finished first overall with a high jump of 1.69m. Junior Dahlia Galante took top three in Javelin with a toss of 31.81m, teammate Katherine Giroux made top-10 with a 29.85m mark to sit eighth overall. In the shot put first-year Amaya Pendleton took silver with a 10.81m mark, just 2 meters short of first.Â
Sophia Jones finished fourth in the 100m with a time of 12.76, while also finishing top-5 in the 200m (26.07) behind teammate Kennedy Mullen who took fourth with a time of 26.05. In the 400m hurdles Bantams' Cailtin Fitzgerald placed fourth finishing 1:09.09 in the event. Sophomore Maggie Furer set a new personal record with her 7th place finish in the women's 5000m time of 18:39.60.
Both men's and Women's 4X100 teams placed third overall, the men's team of Ren Bogan, William Addison, Nolan McKenna, Zuri Johnson finished with a time of 42.90, while the women's team of Savannah Cece, Kennedy Mullen, Jill Fisher and Shea O'Neill clocked in at 50.74.
