Women's Tennis Weekend Recap, April 20th-21st

HARTFORD, Conn. - The Trinity Women's Tennis team embarked on a journey up north to compete against #32 Colby College on Saturday, followed by a match against Bowdoin on Sunday. Despite a valiant effort, the Bantams succumbed to the Mules with a score of 8-1. They continued their determined play against the Polar Bears but ultimately fell short with a score of 9-0.

The duo of #16 Josephine Kimball and Ella Baker took their Colby opponents to a tiebreaker, where they narrowly fell short with a score of 8-7(7)-7(2). Madison Bolig, in the singles 6 spot for the Bantams, secured a victory over Mules' Isabella Suk after a closely contested opening set, which ended 7-5, ultimately solidifying the match win at 6-1.

Baker and Kimball extended their doubles match against Polar Bears' Elizabeth Yu and Jamilah Karah, ultimately falling in a tiebreaker set with a score of 8(7)-7(1).

In singles, in the 3 spot, Baker engaged in a grueling three-set battle, which concluded with a tiebreaker round that saw the Bantams' junior narrowly edged out (6-4, 2-6, 0(3)-1(10)).

First-year Naisha Rathi also competed fiercely in a closely contested match that extended into a tiebreaker first set, ultimately won by Bowdoin's Zoe-Sun with a score of 7(7)-6(3). Bowdoin emerged victorious, securing all 9 match points in the conference meeting.
