Softball Falls To Williams, 3-0, In NESCAC Championship Game

| By:
MEDFORD, Mass. – The fifth-seeded Trinity College Softball team suffered a 3-0 defeat to third-seeded Williams College in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship Game at Spicer Field on the campus of Tufts University Sunday afternoon.

The Bantams wrap their 2024 campaign with a 24-15 record, the most wins in program history, eclipsing the 23-win mark set in 2006, and ended Trinity's 16-year Championship Game drought.

The game began as a pitcher's duel between Trinity senior Tiffany Sowers and Williams sophomore Sadie Leonard. Over the opening three frames, Sowers held the Ephs to four hits, while Leonard notched eight strikeouts.

With two outs and runners on the corners in the bottom of the fourth, Williams Katie Blanche hit a flare into shallow left-center, scoring the runner from third to stake the Ephs to a 1-0 lead.
Williams added to their lead in the bottom of the sixth as first-year Justine Dunaway lifted a two-run home run over the left field fence.

Junior Taylor Mikolajczak went 2-for-3 from the dish, while Emily Goddard added a single. Sowers went 5 2/3 innings allowing three runs on nine hits.
