AMHERST, MASS. - The Trinity College Men's Tennis team faced off against Middlebury College, the top-ranked team in the NESCAC Tournament. On Friday morning, the Bantams competed fiercely against the Panthers but ultimately succumbed to a final score of 5-0.
In doubles, both the pairs of Brandon Felcher and Lua Garbati, and Rico Buoro and Jack Ginter, showcased gritty performances, engaging in closely contested matches that concluded with a final score of 8-4. With the Panthers securing a 3-0 advantage as singles play commenced, Trinity faced an uphill battle.
At the #1 spot on the ladder, Eduardo Sanchez-Carrion suffered a defeat in two sets (6-0, 6-1) against Noah Laber, who is ranked #10 nationally within the Northeast Regional rankings.Â
At the 4th spot on the ladder, Andrew Nelson engaged in a closely contested first set, narrowly falling 6-4. However, Middlebury's Neel Epstein secured the victory for his team by defeating Nelson in straight sets.
The Bantams wrap up the 2023-24 season with a record of 9-10 overall, including a 3-7 performance in conference play.
