HARTFORD, Conn. - The Trinity College Women's and Men's Track and Field Team journeyed to South Hadley, Mass., to participate in the DIII New England Championship hosted by Mount Holyoke.
The Bantams brought back some impressive hardware, notably including the title of 2024 New England Division 3 Men's 400m Champion, claimed by Zuri Johnson. Johnson secured victory by a razor-thin margin of .02, clocking in at 48.66, which not only marked a new personal record but also positioned the sophomore at #67 in D3 rankings.
Across various events, the Bantams showcased their prowess with multiple top-three finishes. Kennedy Mullen sprinted to a time of 56.61, securing 2nd place in the women's 400m dash. Gabby Grattan soared over a height of 1.67m (5'5.75") to claim 2nd in the women's high jump. The relay team comprising Sophia Jones, Cate Kneebone, Emma Almoney, and Kennedy Mullen clocked a season's best of 3:53.26, earning 2nd place in the women's 4x400m relay. This remarkable time also earned them the #17 spot on the D3 Nationals list. Additionally, Ethan Wilkie delivered a strong performance, clinching 3rd place in the men's discus throw with a toss of 47.82m (156'10").
The Bantams will travel to Holy Cross for the NEICAAA Championship two day event on Friday May, 10th with events beginning at 11AM.
