Women’s swimming and Diving Dominate in Tri-Meet: Vs. Vassar and Mount Holyoke

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY. - Women's Swimming and Diving had another stellar performance within the lanes and on the diving platform as they sailed past Vassar (173-105) and Mount Holyoke (225-65). The men battled against Vassar, pulling away with a 165-121 edge over the Brewers. 

Standout Performances from the Bantams:

  • Kathryn Unverzagt kicked off the meet with a dominant victory in the 1000 free, posting a new personal best by over 4 seconds. She also earned a strong second-place finish in the 200 backstroke.

  • Matthew Brown won the 1000 free and the 200 breaststroke (setting a new personal best). Notably, he never swims the 200 breast, but his time was so impressive it earned him a spot in the team's top 10 (6th overall). He also contributed to the 400 free relay team's victory.

  • Weston Lowe came out on top in both the 200 and 500 freestyle events, adding two more wins to our team's tally.

  • Rachel Kim was unstoppable in the backstroke events, winning both the 100 and 200 back. She also played a key role in both the winning relays.

  • Charlotte Murphree dominated the breaststroke, winning both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. She was also part of the winning 200 medley relay.

  • Tadija Ciric had an outstanding performance in the 200 butterfly, securing the win, and was also a member of the victorious 400 free relay team.

  • Isabelle Tagliaferro took the win in the 100 free, placed second in the 50 free, and was a key contributor to both winning relays. She anchored the 400 free relay, out-touching Vassar to seal the victory.

  • Niamh Kastner claimed victory in the 200 IM, along with a third-place finish in both the 100 and 200 fly. She was also a member of the winning 200 medley relay.

  • Owen Schmidt continued his prowess in diving, winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter events.

  • Bridget Kahan mirrored Schmidt's success, claiming victories in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.

The Bantams will travel to Wesleyan University for a conference meet on Wednesday, January 15th. First event will begin at 4PM.
