Wrestling Slams New England College, 41-7

HARTFORD, Conn. – The Trinity College Wrestling squad collected a 41-7 victory over visiting New England College in the 2024-25 home opener at Trinity Memorial Field House Friday afternoon. The Bantams picked up victories in eight of ten matches on the day.
 
Sophomore Daniel Echeverria kicked things off with a 17-2 victory by technical fall over Michael Follo at 141, followed by wins by decision from senior Chris Perry (11-2) at 149, and sophomore Andrew Pratt (9-0) at 157. First-year John Lagana rolled to a pinfall win in 1:06 over Andrew Piedrahita at 165. Graduate Nicholas Crotty grabbed a 10-0 victory by major decision at 184 over Dominic Demaio, tailed by a quick pinfall win from Booker Lester Jr. over Josh Bean in 1:30 at 197. First-year Emre Sensoy and junior Matthew Carrozza nabbed a forfeit victories. Sophomores Alexander Schaeublin and Tucker Vician took the only losses on the day at 125 and 174, respectively.
 
The Bantams return to the mats for the Roger Williams quad Saturday afternoon against Worcester Poly, Johnson & Wales and the host Hawks. Matches begin at 11:00 a.m.
