SHELTON, Conn. — The Trinity College men's rowing team competed at the Head of the Housatonic Regatta over the weekend, fielding multiple boats across Division I, Division III, and Open 4+ events. The Bantams turned in strong performances against top-tier competition, including Division I powerhouses Yale and Brown, and regional rivals Williams and Coast Guard.

What Happened

In the Division I Collegiate 8+ event, Trinity's 1st Varsity 8 placed eighth overall, racing alongside premier programs from Yale, Brown, and Williams.

In the Division III Collegiate 8+ event, the Bantams' 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Varsity 8 crews secured fifth, sixth, and ninth-place finishes, respectively, among a competitive field.

In the Open 4+ event, Trinity's entries claimed second and fourth place finishes, with the top Bantam crew crossing the line just 1.5 seconds behind Yale's winning boat.
"The Head of the Housatonic provides a great opportunity for our crews to test themselves against outstanding competition," said Head Coach Kevin MacDermott. "Facing off against two of the best programs in the country in Brown and Yale is an exciting chance for the team, and seeing important and strong rivals in Williams and Coast Guard gives us a great measure for evaluation as we head toward the end of our fall season."
