No. 2 Bantams will Enter 2026 Unbeaten, Top Bowdoin 8–1

BRUNSWICK, ME. – The No. 2 Trinity College men's squash team closed out 2025 with a perfect 5–0 start to their winter season, securing an 8–1 victory over the Bowdoin College Polar Bears (0–4) on Sunday afternoon. The Bantams now turn their attention to the new year, returning to action on January 10 for the Houston Squash Club Exhibition matches in Houston, Texas.

How It Happened

The top seven spots on the ladder delivered perfect 3–0 victories for the Bantams, beginning with Joachim Chuah Han Wen at No. 1, followed by Benedek Takacs at No. 2, Segundo Portabales at No. 3, Dmytro Shcherbakov at No. 4, Eyad Awad at No. 5, Javier Lopez at No. 6, and Andrik Lim in the No. 7 position.

Junior Bo Page and his Bowdoin opponent traded the first four sets, with Page narrowly dropping a 12–10 battle in the fourth to force a decisive fifth. Page responded with composure, securing an 11–8 win in the final frame to finish the weekend 2–0.

First-year Bantam Zain Amjad pushed his match to five sets as well, taking the opening set 11–7 and extending the match with an 11–8 win in the fourth. The fifth set went beyond extra points before Bowdoin's Oliver Pride edged out a 14–12 victory.
