WATERVILLE, Me. – The Trinity College Women's Swimming and Diving team competed in the four-day New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Swimming and Diving Championships hosted by Colby College, from Thursday, February 13th through Sunday, February 16th.
The Bantams finished with a total score of 411.5 points, securing 11th place overall. During the weekend, the team set six new school records, earned three NCAA B-Cuts, had 11 individual point scorers, and achieved numerous personal bests.
"It was an incredible weekend of performances from our athletes!" said Head Coach Hannah Hagy. "Our final placement doesn't reflect the hard work and potential of our team. We had several near-misses with 10 occurrences of swimmers finishing 25th or 26th in prelims, just missing out on finals and additional point-scoring opportunities. Additionally, illness and other uncontrollable factors impacted some athletes' performances. Despite these setbacks, we broke six school records, earned two more NCAA B-Cuts, and posted many best times. We're hopeful that some of our NCAA B-Cut times will receive invitations to the meet next week, and we look forward to additional training in preparation for the national stage!"
