Fourth-Ranked Trinity Men’s Squash Succumbs to Second-Ranked Yale in 7-2 Defeat

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The fourth-ranked Trinity College Men's Squash team faced a tough challenge against the third-ranked Yale University Bulldogs, ultimately falling 7-2 on Wednesday afternoon.

Trinity's #1 player, Joachim Chuah, defeated Yale's Tad Carney in four games, securing his win despite a setback in the second set (5-11, 9-11, 11-9, 4-11). The Bantams' second victory came from Dmytro Shcherbakov, who triumphed over Yale's Max Forster in a four-game contest (4-11, 9-11, 11-2, 6-11).

Bantams first-year Huzaifa Ibrahim put up a determined fight against Yale's Rohan Gondi in a dramatic five-game match. The first three games were all decided by 12-10 scores, but Ibrahim was ultimately defeated in the final game (11-5, 12-10, 10-12, 10-12, 13-11, 11-5).

Final Score: #4 Trinity 2, #2 Yale 7

Trinity Men's Squash will return to the court as they host the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships, set to take place from Saturday, February 8th through Sunday, February 9th.
