Men's Tennis Register 7-0 Sweeps Against the Pride and Chargers

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Trinity College Men's Tennis team secured back-to-back 7-0 victories against Springfield College and Colby-Sawyer College on Wednesday afternoon. With these wins, the Bantams improved to 5-3 on the season, while the Pride suffered their first loss (7-1), and the Chargers fell to 2-3.

The Bantams first faced Springfield at 2 p.m., registering a dominant 7-0 sweep in the non-conference match-up. Trinity won two of the three doubles matches, with Brandon Felcher/John Pope and Luca Garbati/Andrew Nelson securing victories to claim the doubles point. In singles, five of the six matches were decided in straight sets, while Garbati battled through a tough contest, ultimately triumphing in a tiebreaker with an 11-9 victory to complete the sweep.

Later in the day, Trinity squared off against Colby-Sawyer, starting strong with a 3-0 sweep in doubles. The momentum carried into singles, where the Bantams secured six wins to complete another 7-0 victory. Axel Edstrom battled against Z. Homonnay in a thrilling contest, overcoming a 6(4)-7(7) first-set loss with a 6-4 second-set win, before dominating the tiebreaker 10-3 to secure the match point.

Brandon Felcher also engaged in a hard-fought contest, splitting the first two sets before sealing the victory with a dramatic 14-12 tiebreaker win, capping off the Bantams' perfect day.
