PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – The top-ranked Trinity College Men's Rowing team locked in their spot in the Intercollegiate Rowing Championships (IRC) National Championship race during the qualifying heats Friday afternoon.
The Bantmas 1V boat led the field during the Men's Varsity DIII Varsity 8+ Heat, posting a time of 5:45.360 to beat Wesleyan (5:49.140), Williams (5:49.730), and Ithaca (6:01.280). Wesleyan and Williams earns spots in the A Final, along with Bates (5:49.290), Tufts (5:53.940) and Colby (6:00.370).
In the 2V heats, the Trinity crew took second place with a time of 6:10.100. Williams paced the field at 6:03.060, followed by the Bantams, Ithaca (6:12.780) and Marietta (6:13.860).
The Bantams 2V boat will be back in action for the 2
nd Varsity 8+ Final at 11:50 a.m., followed by the 1V boat will race in the Varsity 8+ Final at Noon.
