Bantams Hit Their Stride at Keene State Invitational

KEENE, N.H. – The Trinity College men's and women's cross country teams returned to the course Saturday afternoon at the Keene State Invitational, competing against a deep field at the Owl Athletic Complex. The Bantam men raced to an 11th-place finish in the 8K Red Championship race, while the women placed 16th in the 6K Red Championship race.

Friday afternoon, the Bantams were prepared to compete at the Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh University. However, due to excessive heat, the invitational was canceled.

Women's 6K
The Trinity women finished 16th in the 27-team field, totaling 382 points with an average time of 24:22. Williams claimed the team title with 33 points, followed by Bowdoin with 54 and Tufts with 138.
  • Nora Butterly led the Bantams with a 34th-place finish, crossing the line in 23:12.1 to collect 31 points for Trinity.
  • First-year Madison Hussey was the next Bantam across the finish line, placing 70th overall with a time of 24:12.5.
  • Margaret Spuler followed in 92nd place, clocking a time of 24:32.9.
  • Junior Lauren Hunt registered a time of 24:50.9, finishing 113th overall.
  • First-year Ella Reagan rounded out Trinity's scoring five, finishing 124th with a time of 25:05.6.
  • Ava DePeau followed closely behind Reagan, crossing the line in 25:07.0, while Mei-Ling Bielagus completed Trinity's top seven in 25:25.3.
Men's 8K
The Bantam men collected 325 points to finish 11th out of 27 scoring teams, posting a team average of 27:04. Trinity finished 48 points ahead of 12th-place Union. Williams captured the team title with 55 points, narrowly edging MIT's 58 points.
  • Nielsen Kasser paced Trinity, crossing the finish line in 26:40.6 to place 61st overall.
  • Junior Jack Blanchfield followed eight spots behind Kasser, taking 69th with a time of 26:49.7.
  • Tim Hamilton gave the Bantams their third scoring performance, clocking 26:58.1 for 77th overall.
  • First-year Mohamed Mohamed crossed the line in 27:14.3, finishing 83rd overall.
  • Junior Tyler Johnson rounded out the scoring five in 107th place with a time of 27:41.6.
  • Aaron Roberts finished sixth for Trinity in 27:49.1, while Alex Hammar completed the Bantams' top seven with a time of 28:33.9.

The Bantams will return to action on Saturday, October 17, competing at the Connecticut College Invitational in Waterford, Connecticut.
